Retainers in Lubbock and West Texas

After you are done with your orthodontic treatment, you can proceed to a retainer to keep your results. Your retainer can protect the investment you made in time and money with an orthodontic treatment by holding your teeth in their new location while your gums and jaw stabilize. To serve the demands of our many patients, Sperry, Tivis, & Wentz Family Orthodontics in Lubbock and west Texas offers many high-quality retainer options, such as a fixed or removable retainer. Our orthodontist can help you along the way and go over all your options.

As soon as your orthodontics are removed from your teeth, you may start your retainer process. We scan patients and 3D print their retainers that are ready within a day. During this appointment, an orthodontist will make sure that your retainer fits comfortably before sending you home. They will also talk to you about when you will need to use your retainer, in addition to how to clean and store your retainer.

At Sperry, Tivis, & Wentz Family Orthodontics, we offer our patients three different types of retainers based on each patient's needs: a clear, Hawley, or fixed retainer. A Hawley retainer (the most common type of retainer) is composed of shaped wires, clasps, and plastic that may be removed. A transparent retainer is inconspicuously worn the same way as a clear teeth aligner and can be taken out of the mouth very easily. A fixed retainer cannot be removed from the mouth since it is secured to the back of your teeth on both or just one arch.

My retainers broke, the same month moved to the state/area recently. I needed to find a new Ortho. Googled, read some reviews and made an appointment. I am very glad I did. During my first visit, I met an amazing Older Ortho who was thorough and explained everything in detail. He was patient, professional, and helped in recommending what type of retainer I needed; as this would technically be my third set of retainers in 3 years due to breakage. For my second appointment, to pick up my new retainers, I met a different Ortho. He was also just as wonderful! He did a great job making sure the retainers were fit, and was very detail oriented. I appreciated that He made sure to let me know if anything didn't feel right about the retainers, or if I have any questions to make an appointment, and come back to make sure they are good fit. Additionally, they give you the best services, as well as a very fair price for what you need!! Very much appreciated. Lastly, the technicians that assisted with mapping my teeth, as well as making sure the retainers fit, had great customer service. I would definitely recommend them, and will absolutely be going back if needed.Monica

We love Wentz! They have been sooo amazing with Samuel’s dental plan to help straighten his teeth! In 8 months he has had such a huge transformation! It’s been sooo neat to watch his retainers do big changes not just physically but emotionally for Samuel! He is no longer self conscious about his teeth and smiling! His smile matches his beautiful eyes! Thank you for being sooo sweet and caring with Samuel each visit. He’s excited each time we go!

Dr. Sperry and everyone who works there are awesome! I just completed my aligners today and can't wait to get my retainers! Honestly, they are all friendly, kind and thorough. I couldn't have asked for a better experience! Take it from someone who waited until they were 64 to get my teeth straightened, they truly are amazing!
